the haps.

dear-hearts, it's been a bit since i've written more than just a few words about what is new in the studio here at chateau le shyla, so i thought i'd pull back the curtains for a few moments and let you have a peek.

one of my great loves.

in the last few weeks, i have been quite busy with a project for my work-work. ever since i finished the pieces for my show, i've been putting more energy into the work that is paying the bills these days. the project is on its last leg, and i'll probably finish up in june. until then, i'm still drawing and painting, just not with the same level of intensity. i have been spending a lot of time with my cameras lately, both the nice one and the mean one. (mean guy is good for shots that i'd prefer to be completely out-of-focus and grainy.)

blossoms.

and i'm adding more yoga classes to my schedule (tuesday early mornings and tuesday afternoon kids yoga). the thursday night class has become quite popular, and the students are all just rays of light, i tell you!! it is a dream-class for me, because i get to teach a whole-yoga class, from the sutras to pranayama to chanting and (of course) asana at a price that makes the class accessible (it's $6.50, with tax--i'm not even joking). when i became a yoga teacher, this is the class i dreamed of teaching. who can ask for more than that?!

this is summer.

beyond that, i'm planning to do a few new prints from the pieces i created for the show (like these, this and this) as well as some cards. i love cards and have wanted to do a run of them for awhile.
and, here is the real clincher: i have about a month and a half to come up with the best way to ring in my third decade.

square. that's what i am.

i'm resolving to look less serious in my thirties. what do you think?

  1. I have been spending so much more time with my camera lately too. I think I need to get my hands on a "mean guy." I love the grainy look it produces. Oh and by the way you need to get back out here. I want my B to take one of your yoga classes.

  3. My resolution for my 30's was not to give a damn what anyone else thought about me + accept that I am just a big dork, thus the serious look disolved + I've been much happier ever since
Happy early b-day, may your 30's be fan-ta-bulous!
