1. If it was your birthday tomorrow, what would be on your wish list?
Well, dears, my birthday is the day after tomorrow, so here are my wishes.
Mermaid straight leg yoga pants by Purusha People.
Awakening the Spine, by Vanda Scaravelli.
I wish someone would buy our house.
I wish and hope the oil will stop gushing in the gulf, that we will recover from the disaster, and
that we can wean ourselves of our oil addiction.
I wish for another year of sweet contentment.
2. Do you look after your nails? Do you paint them? If so, do you have a colour that you keep returning to again & again?
I keep my fingernails pretty trim, for the sake of yoga, gardening, and painting. I buff them and use vitamin E oil on them when I think of it. My toenails are usually painted, and I like to switch up the color often (neon yellow, corals, dark blues, i LOVE). Also use vitamin E or lemon cuticle butter on them.
3. What star sign are you, & do you think it is accurate?
Cancer. I think my sun sign is somewhat accurate-- I like to have roots, I'm inwardly-focused much of the time. Objects and their history interest me. I am adaptable to change. One thing I'm not is highly emotional, though I think that is more of a moon-in-cancer trait anyway.
I do think we are highly influenced by the stars. Weekly, I consult The Weekly Forecast from Aquarium Age. (yep... Aquarium, like fish-bowl.)
4. What is something you have recently learned to appreciate?
Lately, I have really begun to trust myself, my intuition in a way I never have before. I think this is somewhat related to the meditation practice I've been working on lately, but also... could be another year of experience.
I have really started to appreciate the closeness between humans. Especially since we live in a large city, we share space with thousands of people. And sometimes it seems we try to distance ourselves by pretending others are different from us. I have begun to practice smiling and saying hello to most people I see on the street. Not expecting anything in return, but appreciating the closeness.
Also, appreciating steel-cut oatmeal raw (soaked for at least an hour), WATERMELON, and club soda.
5. What is your favourite city in the world, & why?
Portland. It's green. It's chill. Great food. Lots of opportunities to hike, bike, run in the city off the street. SO many of my peeps are there. What's not to love?!

Kelly - you are selling that gorgeous house of yours? I'm sad, but hope (for you) that you do sell. I realise this is an old post of yours, so I hope you see this comment. I wandered over to your blog via some random flickr surfing this morning. Oh - and happy belated bday too. xo.
