The lotus really resonates with me. And the Lotus Sutra holds a truly special place in my heart. I am most strongly drawn to the very simile of enlightenment that is the lotus: like the lotus thrives in the murkiest, muddiest, yuckiest of environments, enlightenment is the product of a spirited life, attainable because of our ability to use the muck and mud of our everyday existence to overcome suffering.
