Poppy, dancer and sky

Last night, I accomplished quite a bit of painting in the hours between work, dinner and settling down with a book.

I have been love love loving poppies these days. While I truly cannot stand lemony, poppy seed treats, the flower itself is multi-dimensional. The colors are deeper than I ever remember noticing before. The texture is always a bit of a surprise. They are everywhere right now, big floppy-head Asian poppies and the smaller, more refined looking orangey California variety.

The moon is a constant source of inspiration. If it weren't for a bad case of claustrophobia, I might consider flying their someday.
